Preventative maintenance for your car is essentially REGULAR maintenance. This proactive approach ensures your vehicle runs optimally and prevents small issues from escalating into expensive, major repairs. Overall, preventative maintenance makes your car safer, more dependable, more efficient, and ultimately, saves you money. A well-maintained car will last longer and get better gas mileage.

You might notice your vehicle starting to run rough, or the "Check Engine" light may come on. The recommendation for a tune-up is specific to your vehicle's make and model, as set by the manufacturer. You can check your owner's manual, or simply stop by our shop in Woodinville and we can quickly help you determine if it's time for a tune-up.

While each automobile manufacturer sets different standards, in our experience, we generally recommend an oil change every 5,000 miles or every 5 months for synthetic and synthetic blend oil. If you have questions about what oil change schedule would work best for your specific vehicle, give us a call!

Both synthetic and regular motor oil start as crude oil. Synthetic motor oil is further refined to remove impurities, which improves its stability and lubrication qualities, especially at extremely high and low temperatures. This makes it a great—though more costly—choice for performance vehicles (like those with a turbo) or some high-mileage vehicles. Regular motor oil is still a wonderful option that does a great job protecting your vehicle's engine and keeping it running smoothly. We will always recommend the best choice based on your manufacturer's specifications and your driving habits.t

When your Check Engine Light comes on, it's your vehicle's first way of telling you something isn't right—like the first sign of a cold before you start coughing! Don't panic, but also don't ignore it. You should schedule an inspection with your local Woodinville automotive repair professional as soon as possible. Driving too long with the light on could lead to more significant (and expensive) damage. We can diagnose the exact cause of the alert.

If you notice your vehicle's temperature gauge starting to climb, you need to take immediate action:

  1. Turn off your AC (if it's on) to reduce the load on the engine.
  2. Find a safe place to pull your car off the road and turn off the engine.
  3. DO NOT attempt to remove the radiator cap or check any hoses. The steam and pressurized fluid are extremely hot and can cause severe burns.
  4. An overheated car can cause massive damage very quickly. Once safely pulled over, have your vehicle towed directly to our shop for an inspection.
